For those that celebrate the coronavirus disease in Singapore, this year's Chinese New Year celebrations can vary greatly. Indeed, during the last year several of us have forced the way we observe different holidays and stick to steps to distinguish ourselves from those in society.

The reopening has seen substantial progress after Step 3, with the initiation of the vaccine deliveries being the most significant.

On 1 February, in Parliament, senior health minister Janil Puthucheary said that to date over 155,000 individuals have taken their first doses of the vaccine Covid-19. It has already been confirmed that in the next few weeks more vaccine centers.

In order to prevent any rates of increase in the number of regular cases, celebrants shall conform, for example in restricting the number of household visits and more, to government multi-ministerial task force (MTF) constraints.

On 22 January, education minister and co-chair of MTF Lawrence Wong reported that the possibility that the Chinese New Year's time will raise the probability of transmitting further social events and experiences. He added last year that a number of clusters were established during the Chinese New Year because of unregulated social gatherings.
