hmmm. those are not call apartment or studio. a studio apartment is a 1brdm apartment.

those are jus normal HDB flats, believed they are priced higher cos usually flats nearer to mrt/amenities fetch a better price.

Hi All

WOuld appreciate ur reply if u know u know e ans

I have received my HLE amont fr HDB is $318k. What if if I wan to  purchase  a flat from HDB that cost ,let's say $440k. I have  CPF abt $70k and e AHG i get is $10k. So 318+70+10=398k.

So I stil short of $42k off the flat price. Does it mean that HDB won't let me purchase e flat?

Or i have to top up e shortage in CASH? Bcos HDB only willing to loan me $318k?

Any reply is appreciated.

Thanks

You forgot to add the stamp duty which is about $10K, so total is $408K.

This means you have to top up  $32 K in cold hard cash ((Flat price $440K - (HLE $318K + CPF $70K + AHG $10K + Stamp Duty $10K)).

This excludes the renovation that you may do to your new flat.

So you should comfortably have at least $72K in cold hard cash assuming you do just basic renovation costing $30K, with provision of $10K for emergency use and rainy days.

Do your sums and give it a thought before you commit.

The HDB website is now jammed.

Must be experiencing very heavy traffic.

This is also an indication on the overwhelming response and interest in these flats.

I expect them to be all heavily oversubscribed.

"You can only apply for one town and one flat application category3. "

is it mean in the application for example i choose queenstown.
And i cant choose other town if during my turn, there is no ideal flat in queenstown??

That is correct. Not even from 4 room to 5 room or vice versa

Also, do take note that studios and 1 bedroom apartments are NOT the same thing. In general, studios tend not to have partitions between the living and the sleeping areas whereas a 1 bedroom would have some sort of separation both and maybe demarcate the kitchen area as well.

2009 april half yearly sales, few particular units at Tivela, Atrina (SK) were at 260K++. the same unit up for sales for now has gone up to 290K and even beyond 300K.

And wasnt it updated that these units were all taken up during 09 half yearly sales? how come now all available again...really so many people give up after paying 2K deposit??

no double bookin in other words ??

guess it can b considered no double booking. But how will HDB do the balloting? given now that applicants have to state their prefered town/category..
eg : they will take the whole of those who applied P@D S1 and ballot these grp? Should be right....

but chances seems still very small
