heard from a old resident who stay at boon lay garden... They got SER and move to jurong west (area near jurong west stadium)..

heard from him ...The area is nice and windy..

V0dka, my prediction is wrong...guess HDB willl only start their selection during 3rd to 4th week of this month. I was told that HDB will only send the booklet plsu the date of selection 10 days before the selection date starts.

so shortlist any unit?

Been considering Dawson and Boon Lay Meadown: Although i do agreed that the location of dawson is great but if you look deeper into the underlining issue. Boon lay meadow is actually not a bad purchase.
Pro
1. Some unit has a decent view
2. Great for people driving.
3. Boon lay market actually has some great food
4. The area is quite windy actually
5. Won't burn your wallet ( You could save your extra $200 k on a fantastic renovation).
6. Jurong west and boon lay is already a 'mature' estate
7. There is alway demand for rental room as Tuas and jurong island is no much closer

Con
1. The blocks of rental unit may decrease the value of the flat.
2. The location is not so fantastic (2 to 3 bus stop from boon lay mrt station)
3. Pollution? I have been staying in jurong west area- i alway feel that there is this 'chocolate stench' in the air but it is not that bad.

comments anyone?

I work at jurong west area.
Indeed the wind is strong that area. Wonder why. However I guess it also depends on whether the unit blocked.
Yes there is a chocolate smell in the air. Some people find it ok but some dun. The smell has mysteriously gone for the past few months. Wonder why.
The rental at jurong west is comparable to jurong east. It is higher than yishun and woodlands.

Hi robustoes...glad to see someone join in the discussion on this BTO... did u apply for this BTO?
This BTO could be a good investment...buy cheap and sell high? Dawson will be buy expensive and sell even more expensive? ...hehehe...so which one will be choose?

Saw at the forum for BTO Fernvale Palms ...the selection start at 18th Jan....hmmm...guess it will be same for Boon lay meadow...so my 2nd prediction is correct....3rd to 4th week of jan...

Erm.. My q no. Is 0009 n I think I'm choosing 8th or 10th floor unit no. 610 or 612, so if u r 614 then we can be neighbours. Haha..

Wow such a good q no.. Mine is 144 but for 3 rooms. Hope to get a unit away from the roadside. Hmmm there are plans for LRT there but earliest it can be completed is around 2020 i think. They still gotta do downtown line, thomson line and eastern region line first.

hey xiong... i got number 00003 for 4 rm. haaa

do agreed with Gad that it won't be so soon for the LRT to be up. LRT station and rail need ALOT of space and for a mature estate ...land is a constrain...

anyway we have to make do with buses or car. There quite alot of buses to jurong point. 240, 174,154,184....30..just to name a few.

Last nite drove pass boys hm n stopped at the bustop, I think 610 612 614 really nice view n it dun really have alot of cars passby.
Actually my wife plan to get 640 cos it is the center view but end up we realize that it is facing west sun
