Hi Janice. Sorry I can't take on yr project. First of all, I am not an ID. I hv a day job. Secondly, I live in HOng Kong. I am only doing these projects as a favor for my close friends. And I do it free of charge. So, this is for the moment, NOT a business.

That stupid pillar in the living room is a structural pillar and cannot be demolished. What a bummer. It is now restricting our original plan to hv a completely open plan living room-kitchen. So now, back to the drawing board!

Looking towards the kitchen and the master bedroom. The kitchen wall partially hacked. The bedroom wall on the left will be hacked soon so that the space will be truly open. The bedroom will hv swivel door panels.

Anyway whilst we wait for hdb to approve certain hacking plans, we are now considering design for the kitchen. We are totally trying to recreate a Bulthaup B2 kitchen! But we are not going to pay an arm and a leg for it and so we will improvise. Now discussing with Kenny, my contractor.
But it shd look something like this and it shd be a wet dream.

We don't need such a fancy island but since my frens place is smacked in the middle of Bedok town centre, we reckon he needs a simple kitchen cabinet only. So something like the Bulthaup kitchen would be perfect.

Now hunting for these tiles. Inspired by the wall tiles in The Chedi Chiangmai.
These are from a showroom in Bangkok. Much needed colour for the bathroom.

Ooh! Breaking news! Wall separating bedroom and kitchen likely to be ok for hacking! On condition no gas pipes running into bedroom. Duh. We are using electric hob. And even more exciting news!! That pillar in living room can be hacked! Yay!! So it will truly be an open plan design. We are very pleased.

Let me digress a bit since I'm in Bkk this weekend looking for tiles. I present you pics of Bkk from Vertigo on the rooftop of the Banyan Tree tower.

Anyway this is the inspiration for the toilet. It's the tiles in the bathroom of The Chedi hotel in Chiangmai.

I hv searched high and low for it but I couldn't find it in Singapore. So I hv come to look in Bkk. And I found these Italian tiles. It is even endorsed by George Clooney. Lol.

The shape may be different but it's the glaze that I'm looking for. And the colour is such a happy colour.

Wow, this project is shaping up nicely. Love your dedication btw... your friend is lucky to have your help! Any other lovely furniture purchases so far?

I find outdoor dining too warm to be comfy, so as lovely as Vertigo is, I still prefer dining in ac comfort. Can't remember the name of the other pricey rooftop restaurant...
Have you popped by Crystal Design Centre btw?

Ooh the wonders of Internet. The tiles are from Spain. There seems to be no distributor in Singapore but there is a distributor in KL! I will call them and get them to deliver.
