The pending case of the 58-year old woman who doesn't know English, hit jackpot at MBS,
but is offered cash + sports car which is about 75% of the win:
"CASH is 4 letters, and CAR is 3 letters. I know the difference."
Classic!

cjy666, agree must 1st support local MBS.
US$1 now less than S$1.30, very good for travel. Over at Las Vegas, there are much to do
and enjoy besides casinos.
________
Oh?? wat is there to see beside the casinos?? How many days stay you think would be enough? The trip takes abt 13hrs rite?
It takes 19+ hours from Singapore to Vegas excluding transit time. I have never gambled there though.. LOL.. mostly watching shows, eating and shopping.
I think shopping at MBS is great. Less crowded, better service at the stores. Good place to push a stroller around if have kids. Never gambled at MBS before too.
Had this encounter of a very well dressed local in late 20s approaching me and asking for "help" near the casino area. Claims that he badly need $$ as he had burst his limits etc.

MBS was a must-visit for my overseas friends. Those who did not stay there also visited Skypark.
It was Skypark first, then Merlion for them.
The recent stay were by 2 Japanese friends, avid food and anime lovers.
Some dim sum we had at MBS Jin Shan Restaurant which they liked most.
Baby abalone siew mai with caviar
Couldn't believe that they loved the chicken feet.

I just went to the Titanic Exhibition at the MBS Art and Science Museum. Quite a good and educational exhibition with inspiring true stories of passengers on the Titanic, actual artifacts found in the remains of Titanic and replica of the insides of Titanic. Did you know that the Titanic was suppose to have stop by Singapore then, had it not sunk during her maiden trip? After the exhibition, we sat around the area outside the Art Science Museum and enjoyed the wonderful view of the Bay area. Admission prices to the Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition start at $20 for Singapore residents; ticket discounts are available for senior citizens, children under 12 and OCBC Bank cardmembers.

This sound interesting, will visit it. I visited the earlier Dali exhibition at the museum, will post some pics when I have the time :)
It is indeed fascinating if it is supposed to stop by Singapore. Must be a very long journey since it's headed towards the the east coast of US and it's so big that maybe even the current cruise centre may have probs having it dock here.

If true, then it would have been parked offshore, and the tongkangs used for ferrying supplies and restocking the
ship. Probably stated to generate local interest for the exhibition, IMO.

Aerial view of Jin Shan Restaurant
It is open concept except for the 3 lantern-like enclosures and private rooms behind. As the place is elevated, you
still have privacy at the open area where we sat, chatted and watched the world went by.
Food price is higher than the usual restaurants, and even higher when my 2 foreign friends could each chomp down 3 baskets of each kind like these:

My 2 Japanese friends postponed their April trip here because they said their country was suffering from
the March tsunami and nuclear disaster, so they should not be enjoying themselves then.
Other than conforming to power saving measures, they were not directly affected by the disaster as they live further
away from the disaster zone. How admirable!
I asked them what they thought of the bay area. Being anime lovers, their creative minds came up with
this.
(Please picture it in animation.) They said:
Singapore has a secret defence system. In need, the Magic Wheel (Flyer) will wheel the 2 Mega Catapults (2 Esplanade Durians) to the Launch Pad (Sky Park).
From Launch Pad (Sky Park), the Magic Compressible Stick (Helix Bridge) will propel the Mega Catapults (Esplanade Durians) to whatever target.
For retrieval or launch abortion , the Mega Catapults (Esplanade Durians) will be caught by the Giant Retrieval Palm (ArtScience Museum).
I was thoroughly entertained.

My friends' room overlooked Gardens-by-the-Bay which only opens in June 2012. They left before
the 20th World Orchid Conference so missed the chance of the Gardens' preview.
Some pics I took at the preview and orchid show:
With the direct bridge that links MBS to the Gardens, it will be a breeze to cross over and visit.
