Had this really nice western food from Tanglin Halt Hawker Centre.

I love their tender pork chops that cost onloy $4.50. It includes 2 pieces of pork chop, 1 baked potato, some fries and salad. Really value for money.

Other than pork chops, they also sell fish & chips, chicken cutlet etc. Can't rem the exact stall number to this stall but this stall is easy to find in the hawker centre. The hawker centre is within walking distance from Commonwealth MRT station.

haha. so near where i stay. but, i never eaten yet.

you can go try ... and also order the cheng tng from the nearby stall.. it's great.....

For those who are thinking of trying this Western food stall, take note that they only open at night or late in the evening.
No luck when i went there in the afternoon.

Tried the laksa from Wei Yi Laksa Prawn noodle instead.
Ordered the $2.50 variant Chicken Meat Laksa. Pretty tasty though the portion is small

 

anyone remembered the western stall at the old 十六楼 hawker? it's known for it's Southern Chicken in a super big plate....wonder where they are now....

anyway, the 十六楼 chengteng stall, 蜜蜂园 was on 抢挡行动 last nite...got FULL MARKS!

I believe the rental there is cheap for this unrenovated hawker ctr.

$4.50 is great value for the pork chop.

But once the hawker ctr undergoes renovation, prices are sure to rise to at least $5.00, as HDB will definitely raise the rental.

I've stayed here for all my life, and I can review them all since their beginning.

This stall has it's glory once, at one period when the stall owner's son was cooking. He, being one of the chef in one of the well-known hotel, did a very good job in the pork/chicken/lamp chops and the steaks.

However, after he left, the quality of the meat drops. At one point, I was eating chicken chop with the chicken mashed up (not fresh), and I stopped eating it since.

Not long after, the market undergo upgrades, that was early 2009. This stall moves to Alexandra Food Market till only a few weeks ago, when the Tanglin Halt market reopen, do I see this stall appearing again.

It might be me but I still got the phobia from eating that low quality chicken chop, but I'll definitely try again. From the photos, it seems they've resolved some past issue like unfresh meat, not fresh salad and veg. But I guess it was me, as all the stores got a fresh start in this.

There's another western food around the corner too, by the name of "No. 1 Western food". I reckon you should try if you'd like fried stuff rather than grill (chicken cutlet for example).

This western stall moved to alexandra hawker opp queensway shopping centre when the tanglin halt hawker was under reno....... i came back after it was open...
from the look of it, the q at No 1 western food which is behind this stall was better...
this stall not always open....maybe the owner got some attidue... like to drink wine previously.

The new hawker centre got a few others stall whcih sell better or cheaper food...
