amara hotel has a few shops... tanjong pagar xchange too have a couple of shops...

You can also take the train to City Hall to shop at Raffles City. I do that once in a while (esp when I am looking for birthday presents for friends or when Robinsons are having a Big Sale for members)
With the increased in train freq during lunch time, it took me less than 10 mins to wait for a train and to travel there.

Used to shop around Arcade at Raffles place.
lots of money exchanger and snacks.
Few small boutiques.
OUB plaza - and underground shopping in Raffles place MRT station.

Hitachi tower or the old Caltex house is a place for shopping as well. Mostly cater to the working class.
