The Singapore Science Festival began yesterday with the opening of the X-Periment carnival at the Marina Square atrium.
Visitors tried their hand at breaking down starch into glucose with chemicals, learnt about the process of detecting DNA and watched science entertainer David Epley demonstrate explosions and visual illusions.
The upcoming events for Singapore Science Festival is Singapore Mini Maker Faire! It is a D.I.Y workshop where you can learn robot building, electronics and more! Only from 4th August to 5th August! More details here: http://www.sciencefest.sg/calendar-details.php?id=72
Another upcoming event on the 10th to 12th August is Science Buskers Festival.
A must for science lovers! |

hi, national heritage board museum is free admission during august. In celebration on the nation's birthday, Singaporeans and PRs will enjoy free admission to the National Heritage Board's (NHB) museums and institutions for the whole month of August.
All visitors will enjoy free admission to all exhibitions and galleries during two open house days in August: National Day on August 9 and Hari Raya Puasa on August 19. I think August is the right time since there are special exhibitions like "Treasures of the Aga Khan Museum: Architecture in Islamic Arts" at the ACM, and "Gold Rush: Treasures of Ukraine" at the National Museum. |

Jalan Besar Community Heritage Trail was launched on 4th and 5th August. Did anyone participated?
Courtesy of Asiaone
- The Jalan Besar Community Heritage Trail takes visitors on a journey through the heritage of the district, parallel to the development of Singapore. Jalan Besar, which means “Big Road”, was one of the first roads to be built in Singapore.
- The trail features an additional four new heritage sites in the district, such as Syed Alwi Road, the former Victoria School (now PA HQ) and the Holy Trinity Church.
- In addition, visitors can also catch the Singapore Portraits travelling exhibition, which showcases reproductions of artworks from the national collection, original multi-media, and art installations from Singapore's arts and creative industries.

Hi guys, back with 2 more events!
First one is The New Paper Big Walk 2012! The first 18,000 walkers will get to have $700 worth of goodies!
For example, there is a free limited edition Big Walk T-Shirt from Denizen and lots of other vouchers! Check it out here. Registration fees at $20.
Another event is my favourite!!! It is ChunkFest 2012!
Singapore's biggest Ice Cream Festival featuring 20 different Ben & Jerry's flavours, with 15 specially flown in for the festival.
If you are game for a ‘freezing’ experience on the beach, take on the ‘Vermonster’ eating challenge with a team of four to see if you are the fastest to devour 20 scoops of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream!

Saw this article in my paper titled "Take a walk through Kampong Glam's past". Malay Heritage Centre is launching Malay CultureFest and is free admission for the whole of next month!
There are total 6 permanent galleries spread over 2 floors, with 2 themes: Dagang(trade) on the upper level and Budaya(Culture) on the ground level. There will be a 3D walkthroughof historical Malay homes. How interesting! |

I am so excited for the upcoming River Safari coming in Dec 2012! I am happy that I can share the news that Night Safari is having a buy one get one free promotion!
Just snap the photo and flash it at the ticketing counter.
Any suggestions on what are must-see at night safari? |
