I remember spending quite a bit of time searching on the app store to find the apps that do work in Singapore and I find it quite a bother to go through the normal browse & search process when I don't really know what's out there. So thinking we can start a thread here to share the handy iPhone apps that are actually relevant to Singapore users :) Feel free to help grow this list!

I'll start with a few of my favorites:

1. iGV [Movies/Cinemas]
Movie listing for Golden Village, handy for GV Movie Club members like me coz I always go there on Tuesdays for the members price. You can browse by current/upcoming movies (w/ short synopsis) or by GV cinemas. Best feature of the app is that you can view seating availability and even make reservations! No credit card required, just collect your tix and pay at the counter 45mins before show time.

2. Now Playing [Movies/Cinemas]
If you want to check out movie listings in out cinemas (eg. Cathay, Eng Wah etc.), this app gives you the info usually w/ trailers, but does not support reservations.

3. DBS Indulge Singapore [Dining/Restaurants/Hotels]
Very handy app if you are a DBS credit/debit cardholder. Tells you all the promotions you can get at various restaurants & a Freebies section w/ one-time use coupons. You can view by categories (there are Wedding promotions as well) or search for restaurants. Best feature imo is the Nearby function, which lists out all the restaurants & their promotions according to your current location. If you are wondering what to eat at where you are, this app could help!

4. SGTransport [Transport]
Tried with a couple similar apps but decided to stay with this - less bugs. Shows bus listings (stop by stop) by bus #s. Allows search by bus # or street name. Best feature is that you can check timings for next arrival, which comes in handy when planning your trip to work or somewhere. You can also bookmark bus stops so you don't have to search for it again every time. This app has a map for the MRT routes and shows the rough journey time between stops. However, it is not dynamic like the bus search function (you can't check when the next train is arriving) and map is not updated with Circle line. Works great for buses so it's good enough for me :)

I am sure you will love this application called WhatsApp. It replaces SMS and saves you money on SMS costs for domestic or international SMS!! I am sure the telephone companies will hate it. You an send photos and video (I think) with yr chats. You can chat with fellow iphone users. Try it.

Well... I hope tomorrow I will be happy to use the application! hahaha.

Anyway for those who had jailbreak their iPhones, you must go cydia pay and download iBluenova. This application is what Apple should had never miss out but they did! Yawns.

Anyway iBluenova is an application that enable bluetooth transfer from iPhone to any other bluetooth enabled devices!! Shoick!!!! Now can send mp3, files, pictures to other phones!! (only trouble is iPhone to iPhone, both need to have that application! haha) Anyway it cost USD5.99, I just bought it and love it!!

WhatsApp is definitely a life saver considering at this point I don't get unlimited sms :S.  Sucky thing is the other party must have the same app, and I don't know why many people would rather spend money on their SMS-es than 99cents to download the app for the rest of your life :(

Another app I find useful is the Mediacorp app for you to listen to the radio stations under Mediacorp on the go.  I need 987FM with me wherever I am, haha.

Emoji Free! app allows u to input very interesting icons in yr sms..Take note as only iPhone users can get to see these icons. Non-iPhone users will only get gibberish in their sms when they receive it..
