My sister's and friend's hotmail account got hacked.
Vendors asked them to pay for goods ordered through accounts.
Worse is they used those accounts for online transactions including banking.
Lucky no loss so far.

Better not give email addresses in contest forms, and have separate email accounts for official and casual communication.

Another fraud received today... this guy nvr quit.....

Your mobile no. that you fill in the contest form is also sold to 3rd party companies and you end up being bugged with endless telemarketing calls.

shelby, tat's probably the next step when you fall into their trap.

I alwasy email them to send some money to me first, but they always fail to do so, afterwhich I keep sending them repeated emails, in duplicates of a hundred on a daily basis.

I was told that if you respond to an email, it shows them that your address is "alive", and they will compile and sell email addresses
similar to what you mentioned re. mobile nos.

I was able to get the package out to a safe location entirely out of

i believe they uses some softwares to mass spam......not sure if u paste their email 100x in the To: field...they will receive it 100x =)

Everyday, I'm sure to received 1 email on this. And I'm too use to it....from yahoo, Dr X of some research lab, Daughter of Y, Manager of Z bank, etc....

I received email purportly from one of Bill Gates' co. asking me to buy some shares, and when listed in UK, I get windfall.

They try all kinds and never give up.
I pity those who were naive and lost money in get-rich-quick scams. Very, very expensive lessons.
