I wonder if the proposed new residential and commercial developments at Kallang and Paya Lebar are mainly on State land or private land? If it is State land (which is most likely the case), it may take a long time to develop as the Government will need to prioritise against so many other locations, e.g. Marina Bay, Jurong, Novena and all the New Towns etc.

actually it is all driven by demand and supply.
government can supply but the private sector must also have the demand.
also need a strong economy and supportive people to sustain the developments.

When CityLight condo owners were in their celebratory TOP mood with their panoramic seaview pictures proudly presented in another forum site, I virtually drop an atomic bomb and warned them that their views will be threatened and the days were also numbered.

True enough, my prediction for this impending Kallang Riverside project was realised.

There has been discussion over at Skyscrapercity that there may be two buildings in Marina Bay that will exceed 280m height limit. They are located on the piece of land with a plot of 25 respectively at the north and south of Central Linear Park. Some renderings provided by Rafflescity.

This are just draft and it is still under consideration by URA. Hope it will be built.

These two proposed in mind buildings are intended to be the landmark differentiated by their privilege height.

In times, they will redefine the true meaning of iconic. Probably these two plot of lands will be subjected to architecture competition inorder to realize the aims.

Hi zuoom! Welcome :)

You can either view it online at URA's website i.e. http://www.ura.gov.sg

or go down to URA gallery along Maxwell Rd :)

Feedback can be sent to them online via URA's website too ;)

we went to see the master draft when it was open and that's how i found out about the development slated for peck seah street side. the buildings in this corner (red dot, white house, 23 & 25 peck seah street, 30 maxwell road, wallich building) are all govt owned. the 2 bldgs left standing, after all the purported developments will be red dot and white house. sent me into cold sweat and frenzy man! then now i found out wallich will be vacated by next feb and when i questioned my main lease holder (of the building) he said the developments have been held back due to the slow down of market. so we will have at least another 3 to 5 years of business here. haiz... who to believe?

are you referring to :

1. "the Government has given the go-ahead to build the North-South Expressway or NSE by 2020 to cater to the projected growth in travel between the northern and city areas.  With the 21 km-long NSE, Singapore’s 11th expressway costing $7-8 billion, residents in the north can expect travel time to the city to be cut by 30%. "

and

2. "The Downtown Line (DTL) will be built in three stages, with Stage 1 to be completed in 2013, Stage 2 to be completed in 2015 and Stage 3 in 2016. When fully completed, the DTL will enhance the connectivity of the Rapid Transit System network and facilitates direct travel from the northwestern and eastern areas of the island to the Central Business District and the Marina Bay. The DTL is projected to see a daily ridership of more than half a million when in full operation.
