Hi,
I’m sure I read somewhere that electrical sockets in rented properties must be the type with the on/off switch and not the old ones that don't have any control. Does anyone know if this is true or am I just imagining things?
Thanks

The law may differ according to which country you are renting in. The electicity should be safe and if the landlord possesses a valid electrical safety certificate such as the PAT test for appliances then that can be useful in selecting your property. Check for what is required with your local housing officer at the council-they may have licensed your landlord and inspected the electrics.
