Halos Sembawangers....
I have lived in Sembawang for almost a year plus and still see lots of tiny tiny creatures....looks like bed bugs....but not exactly it is..... living together with me all this time!! They are so tiny till you must go near an inch to them at the wall in order to have visibility on them.
Just want to find out...do you experience the same thing too???? I really puzzled on how to get rid of them!!
I have tried the following method:
1. Spray Bygon on all area found with it.
2. New painting over all walls affected with it.
Haiz...sad to say they are almost like tons of army troops with lots of babies too!! Really something that unbeatables and incredibles. They leave no traces to the HQ and I lost ideas on finding it.
Anyone had the same experience as I do?
Troubled guy!!

I suggest you inform your town council to buck up on their cleaning. |

tacl75,
Try the government web site, use the feedback page to voice your complaint. Ask them to help out so that they can re-direct you to the correct department.
HDB would not be able to help much as they don't know what it is. Hopefully, the feedback can give you the scientific department to investigate.
Might be a new type of mutating insects. |

I had a similar problem, the bugs were really tiny at about 0.3mm (I got a micrometer). And seems to be crawling around the bedframe and mattress.
Here's what I did:
1. I got myself a very powerful vacuum cleaner to vacuum the mattress, bedframe and surrounding area.
2. Paste scotch tape across the 90degree joints of the bedframe, make sure that part of the tape is still expose. The bugs seem to like to bury themselves in a corner, so by pasting the tape, the bug will get stuck on the tape.
3. Spray baygon on effected area.
After about a month, the bugs were gone.

tacl 75 - you may want to try using the "rainbow" vacuum cleaner. It has a special device for cleaning the mattress, good for getting rid of dust mites. |

Have you tried calling the exterminator? What floor are you on? |

I forgot one important thing. Never ever use your eyes to look at these insects up close with your naked eye without any protection. They might jump into yours eyes and cause infection or worse cause blindness Use a magnifying glass, that's what they are for.

I lived on 15th floor and I have used vacuum before and it doesn't work too!! Luckily its not termites.... looks like getting the expert from HDB may helps though it's not under their responsibility.. will try it out!!
Oh rite!! not to look from ur naked eyes. Thanks mate...i had my glasses on but not magnifying ones..:)
Probably I will engage the pest buster if HDB does not have solution to it. yea....
Thanks to all mates... wipe out them once I found the host!! :)

long time since i logged in. i have the same problem, stayed in 490 sembawang green. got the hdb person to come down and she said it's because we didn't air the room. but i doubt so cos i air my rooms, spray baygon, vacuum the walls and the tiny bugs still appear again and again. i have give up already, now they coexist in my house. i suspect it's due to the construction materials they used but too tired to investigate cos hdb ppl no real solution to this problem. |

I had the same problem too. i got my room repaint as i had some tiny brown bugs crawling all over my wall etc.
I actually engaged the House Painters from singapore Painters and their services was not bad. They reccomended me that putting a new coat of paint will actually reduce this problem as the bugs cant stand the smell as it will ''sting '' them.

I have the same problem and we painted the house. It lasted two years and now they are back. Not sure if they are baby spiders because i do have spiders too. I have to vaccum frequently even on the celing. |

I think these creatures feed on tiny specks of mold on the walls. My place is ok after wiping the walls with chemicals to kill the mold.

What chemicals do you use to clean the walls? |

I use industrial chemicals... but any mold killer will do. Just make sure it does not stain the walls ;) |
