Yah. I've tried walking from the current E-W line Paya Lebar MRT to GS and took around 8mins++, i think depending on fast u walk bah. CCL Paya Lebar MRT is a bit further down, so i guess need another 3-4 mins, which I think still within walking distance. As for the sheltered walkways, hopefully they can consruct some shelter below the MRT track from the MRT to the Eunos Rd 5 area. Then cut across the blks in the Eunos Rd 5 area, n then cross the rd to reach GS liao. MikeDirnt, My opinion is start from ur own frds first. C how much the ID/contractor quote them n have a rough guide wat to expect. if u like wat u c, i.e. carpentry works, like the feel, then start shortlisting them. This is wat i'm planning to do lor.

wow that's great if HDB provides that! :) guess can only wait till we get our keys... thinking of hacking the wall between MBR and bedroom 3 into one big MBR, then can also do my walk-in wardrobe... hahaha... need to psycho my hubby later... anyway so far i've shortlisted about 6 IDs/ contractors... will meet them after CNY see how the feeling first, then shortlist 3 "finalists" when get key ask them to refine their quotations then choose from there... so far my list is: 1) Unimax Creative 2) Inside Living 3) Mei Sin Furniture 4) Image Creative 5) Earnest Interiors 6) Intra Design any comments/ feedback?? |

Hi faithz17,
I started searching for ID's too like you! =)
1) and 4) I dropped cause the ID did not get back to me at all about the quotation after first meetup =_=''
5) ID (Kennedy) was very prompt in making changes / revision to quotes so he is pretty much shortlisted... He is the one of the only IDs that does revision, replies very quick... hahaa =D which is something that I do admire...
6) Quotation is on the high side cause he does a lump sum without any breakdown. Allows for a lot freedom to max out things like no. of mirrors / no. of colours for paint with no added cost i think? Good for the modern look i guess, but I am looking at using a natural theme so think i do not intend to use a lot of mirrors? so might drop him... The ID Dave is a nice guy though... not pushy a lot and gives really great ideas... just not really my hubby and my cup of tea...
We are also thinking of hacking the big wall to make a walk-in but worried about the price of the flat as i think the price will fall? So might in the end put the walk-in in the MBR without hacking.... but the room will become awefully small! =(
Its good to go renotalk to read but need to read with a pinch of salt... cause heard there is 'fake' people there just to do advertisement.....
Hehe... I am not fake though since you all will see me and Hubby this weekend! =D |

Not sure if the covered walkways will be link from the MRT underground walkways onwards or not..to
our new living housing.
However, I'm sure all of us will look forward more eagerly towards the completion of the MasterPlan 2008.
These links was shared very much earlier by Funnyloh in early threads.
Cross-Section location from Paya Lebar MRT all the way to New Geyland Serai Market
Forward to the future Paya Lebar

I also shortlisted
1. Baroque Interior - ID is accomodating, but carpentry is so-so
2. Citrus Box - Carpentry is ok but is a new company =X not too sure what to expect...
3. Ideal House - Does not allow us to have a look at the current projects until inital confirmation with deposit =_='''
4. Rezt & Relax - forum reviews not too good, but ideas given is innovative though... =) would be looking at carpentry soon to see if it is passable.
I not too sure about the wall bringing down the value, but I think it is common view ba.But hacking is cheap (from what the ID said) it is what happens after that which is expensive... hahaaa =)
But your parent's idea about the MBR is innovative =) Not too sure how much is the damage in terms of reno though.... =D |

wahseh. uall done so much research liao. hahaha....... efficient. Remember to share more with us. Just to comment on something regarding renotalk, i remembered few mths back i read abt this contractor called Ah Soon, everybody was praising him how gd how gd. but lately i revisit that thread, it seems like he made a mess for some of the forumers there and left the job halfway done after collecting the deposit. But of cos, it might just be this 1 bad sheep. The thread can be found here:- http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21215&st=2000&start=2000 So my fellow future neighbours, be cautious. Btw, my previous post on what precautions homeowners can take before renovating their home oso taken fr 1 of the post there. |

I would agree with Soothe with regards to the HLE. What we share are just our experiences. I believe each case will be unique. For those having probs with HLE, u need to call up HDB and talk to them.
So, is the meetup confirmed?
