this is quite near where i live!
try the ZHU ZA TANG with the Prawn and meat roll (hey zo), at the corner of the Food Centre, near the pedestrian crossing, opposite the Guardian Pharmacy.
Also the teo chew fish soup, at the other corner of the food centre, nearer to the coffee shop.
The fish ball noodle with the fried fish crumbs also not bad $2.50 per bowl.

In the morning, for breakfast, the Chai Tao Kway also not bad.
The Economy Bee Hoon always long queue.

Back frm my 2 day course. Tried the Mixed pork soup as recommended. It's really nice n serving is generous. The Fish Soup mentioned shld be Ng Soon Kee Fish & Duck Porridge. The owner uses salty veg in the soup, thus is slightly saltish for sum. Stall no is #01-11, tel: 67476014, 98199822. Call to order to avoid waiting.

There is a stall selling Lor Mee and Shanghai chicken chop noodle.
Very nice.  Same row as the Mixed pig organs soup stall but further down at the other corner, next to a drink stall.

This is the Shanghai chicken chop noodle. But the pix show Bee hoon. U can choose the noodle. Bee hoon, Shang hai mian, kway tiao or yellow noodle.

Dig up!

Recently I have tried this traditional pig trotters and curry chicken rice. It has been quite addictive to my friends and me till I visited it every weekend. It's call 高小食店, gao xiao shi dian. Their main dishes are pig trotters ($3.50), curry chicken ($3.00) and mee siam ($2.20 or $2 cant remember).
The uncle will prepared flower crabs ($4 each- This is SUPERRRR ADDICTIVE!!!, I dont eat crabs like this but when I bought one home to try, it was so juicy and sweetttt), some fishes (like red grouper or whatever is fresh from the market when he visits the market in the morning), some veggies which he feels like cooking for the day (Also whatever is fresh from the market he visits in the market).
I cant resist to buy the vegs and fish whenever I visited the store because its so homely cooked. The pig trotters are really traditional, pig skin practically melts in the mouth, dont have to chew. The meat is so "infused" with the flavour of the spices and gravy. Uncle said the way he cooked the pig trotters will not be fatty as after cooking for hours, the fatty stuffs are in the gravy not on the food itself.
