Do You Know?

VivoCity's rooftop, which features a wading pool.
VivoCity (Chinese: 怡丰城) is the largest shopping mall at the HarbourFront precinct in Singapore. Opened on 7 October 2006, it marked the completion of the main structure by a topping-out ceremony on 18 April 2006 and was officially opened on 1 December 2006. Derived from the word vivacity, VivoCity, according to Mapletree Chairman Edmund Cheng, "evokes a lifestyle experience that is modern, stimulating and accessible to everyone, a place bubbling with energy and flowing with vitality". At the end of the first week of operations, the mall had received nearly a million visitors.
VivoCity has 1,500,000 square feet (139,000 m²) of gross floor area and 1,100,000 square feet (102,000 m²) of retail space, larger than Suntec City and Ngee Ann City, the former of which was the largest prior to VivoCity's opening. It was designed by the renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito.

They have an attractive scheme for car owners. If you sign up as Vivocity member with your car's IVU number, all spendings at Vivocity can be translated to parking dollars. Eg. you have spent S$260 on weekly grocery at Giant, you will have 5 dollars parking points in the card. What I did was to register 2 cars on the same card. One my dad's and the other my boyfriend's. Thus, when I spent at Vivocity, they will enjoy free parking :) |

Although Vivo is big, i still prefer good old Suntec and Marina Square. Together, i think they are bigger than Vivo. Not to forget Millenia Walk and the nearby Esplanade, City Link + Raffles City. |

With over 1 million square feet of lettable floor space attracting a diverse mix of over 300 retailers, large event spaces, including an outdoor amphitheatre, a 20,000sf open plaza and a 300metre-long waterfront Promenade, VivoCity is Singapore's largest and most diverse retail and lifestyle destination. Designed by world-renowned architect Toyo Ito, VivoCity is the centre-piece of Singapore's newest lifestyle hub at the HarbourFront, which also includes Sentosa, Mt Faber, the Singapore Cruise Centre and the St James Power Station

My family got Sentosa Islander card. What we do sometimes is drive in to Sentosa ($2), park the car there ($1) and take the monorail to Vivocity. Can also take a walk along the beach! :p |

Just found out that the hawker centre opp. VivioCity/Harbourfont do offer some great makans. Many muslim food too. Fresh fruit juice stall. Duck porridge [finished by the time we wanted to order]. Fish soup [yummy!]. Fried Hokkien Mee [pretty good too.]. For Tom, he'd walk from home [Telok Blangah Crescent] to VivoCity/Harbourfront to sort out the banking stuff. Here's a list of banks you can find there: POSB ----- ----- --- #02-103 HarbourFront [bridge] DBS ----- ----- ----- #02-122 HarbourFront [near escalator from breek's] StandardChart ----- #B1-01 Vivocity [near mrt access at basement] Citibank ----- ----- #01-05 Vivocity [near exit to bus stop] OCBC ----- ----- ---- #02-99 HarbourFront [near escalator from main entrance] HSBC ----- ----- ---- #01-52 Vivocity [at a corner nearer to sentosa bridge] UOB ----- ----- ----- #B2-35 Vivocity [near basement foodcourts] Did I miss out any banks? :D |
