Went to Hort Park last weekend. Quite a beautifully landscaped park, but the trees are a little young, so not much shade to cover from the hot weather. So literally, Hort Park is really Hot !
The customer service area. The round stairs lead to function rooms, and there was a wedding held there on that day :)
A nice water area just outside the customer service
Landscaping and decorations outside the function room

What is special about Hort Park is that there are mini-gardens done by the various landscaping companies, think as a marketing tool and also serves to decorate the park. Unfortunately, some of the areas are not well-maintained
The sad state of the hydroponics garden:
What to do with an old spitoon?
Or a broken toy?
How about Plants in Boots ?

The big park in a lot with plants and trees, but the hydroponics are not well.
think those boots have cut to put a plant inside.
can do something with this? |

Hi paolita!! ^^ is been a while yr visit here ^^
Ya the plants in hydroponics garden had fail, most likely due to the hot whether here.. (avg ard 30C ~ 34C during day time)
I just went there last Saturday, personally feel that the playground area too hot with not much shether or shade, so kids coming in late morning or afternoon would not be able to enjoy themselves at the playground as too hot and the metal riling is like hot pot....
Guess the management nid to do something abt it. |

I think landscaping / gardening companies just put a showcase at Hortpark, without any maintenance. Now it becomes a negative showcase :(
Quite sad to see the hydroponics like that, I thought I could show it to my boy but alas ! Nothing to show except dead plants :( |

They should grow more fruit trees and maybe have a herb garden or vegetable plots rather than so many useless plants.
At least our city kids can see how fruits and vegetables are grown.

Parking at Hort Park can be expensive at $1.20 / hour.
Hort Park is a "see once is enough" type of experience.
I still feel Botanical Gardens is a better and more worthwhile place to visit. |

The trees in hort park not big and shady enough like botanic garden. And yes oso feel Botanical Gardens is a better and more worthwhile place to visit. |

Cjy666 Hi, My mother! it's hot out there in the day, it's hard to spend much time outdoors as much heat, poor plants! they need more careful with the heat. |
